The Covid-19 Pandemic has been tough on all of us, but it shouldn’t prevent you from entertaining. Letting your friends and clients celebrate events and accomplishments with you. All you need is extra time to prepare and an innovative caterer.
In Person Events
The safest thing to do is host the party outside using a tent or tables with umbrellas, making sure your guests are seated apart from one another. This can be done by setting multiple small tables all facing the guest of honor/host(ess) or by larger tables and limiting the number of seats at each table. What usually seats 6, seat 4. What generally seats 10 seat 6. The most important thing is for your guests to feel cared for and safe, eliminating awkward situations. Decorate the area with lights, flowers, lighted ficus trees, silent butlers/individual standing heaters/sculptures that can make the area look elegant yet creates divided spacing so people don’t feel they’re in a large group.
Have a small reception table in your front yard, directing guests, that also has small individual hand sanitizers and face masks. Create fun name tags for people to wear. I can’t tell you how many people I don’t recognize when they’re wearing a mask. Have an area where people can mingle safely where cocktails and drinks are served. All drinks should be covered and served with wrapped paper straws that your guests unwrap.
If it’s a causal affair, have the various food being offered, either wrapped so your guests can see its contents or served in labeled take-out containers. There are ways to do this that are both elegant and fun. You could also have a plated affair that’s served by our service staff who wear both disposable gloves and facemasks. Avoid family style and buffets.
We feel it’s important to have some sort of entertainment, whether it be music, dance or a painter (we can help you book this). In your restroom you should have disposable towels, soap, and hand sanitizer.
For your virtual party, have Zekraft deliver prepared food, drink and party items prior to your party. It helps people feel inclusive when they’re all eating and drinking the same thing.
Set up a time to all gather via Zoom or Microsoft’s Teams. We suggest giving your guests a task and put them into break out rooms so they get to know each other more intimately.
You can also create a virtual scavenger hunt or games that drives home the messaging/reason for your party. We also feel there should be an element of surprise, whether it be a special guest, entertainment, announcement, etc.
For a successful party you need your guests to feel cared for, thought about, while doing something exceptional so they share what a good time they had. If you're stumped, reach out to our creative team, I'm certain we'll come up with a bevy of fun solutions.
